Meet the Team

Ambassadors

Leona Lewis
“It is a great honour to be working with MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation as an ambassador. I’m eager to raise awareness of the ongoing global HIV crisis. By empowering young people with knowledge about the disease – particularly women and girls who are disproportionately affected – we can help treat it and ultimately prevent it altogether.”
Leona is no stranger to MTV Staying Alive and our work as she’s already performed at our annual art auction MTV: REDEFINE in Dallas, Texas. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also a passionate humanitarian and activist, and that’s why we can’t wait to have Leona representing the charity on a global scale.

Laura Mvula
“Becoming an ambassador for MTV Staying Alive is a great honour for me. It’s so important that we work harder than ever to increase awareness about HIV among young people."
"First and foremost girls and young women should have access to information and know that they can make their own choices and part of why I’m involved with MTV Staying Alive is because they’re getting the message out to a very wide audience. Girls are disproportionately affected by HIV, with nearly two thirds of all new infections among young people being girls, so I hope that in my role as Ambassador I'll be able to encourage them."

Tinie Tempah
"I want to use my position to raise more awareness, and tell people what they can do to prevent HIV turning into something even more life threatening."
In his first duty as ambassador, Tinie headlined MTV Staying Alive’s exclusive fundraising event, Found in London.

Becca Dudley
“I believe strongly in helping end the negative stigma associated with HIV through education and conversation – even if I can impact just one person, it counts.”
In 2012, Becca was signed up as one of the new faces of MTV UK. As well as presenting the daily news, she reports from movie premieres and red carpet events such as the EMA’s, the Brit Awards and the Mercury Awards; she has even co-presented an MTV show alongside superstar Ne-Yo! If she isn’t at MTV HQ, you will find Becca dj-ing reggae, dancehall and hip hop at major venues across London.
