Jovenes Promotores por la VIHda is a group of students from Guadalajara, Mexico, working to educate young people about safe sex and HIV prevention. The group felt that there was a lack of proper sexual health education targeted at young Mexicans and that a new approach was needed, guided by resources and tools designed by young people for young people.

Working with local design and communication students, Jovenes Promotores create graphic designs that communicate sexual health messages, which they turn into posters and banners to distribute throughout the city and on social media. The team visits schools and universities in marginalised areas of Guadalajara and organises monthly interventions in public spaces in the city by setting up stands where they hold condom demonstrations, get people tested for HIV and conduct interactive games that get young people thinking about safe sex. To date, Jovenes Promotores have reached thousands of young people in Guadalajara with life-saving HIV prevention messages.
