We are very happy to announce that the brilliant Charlie Sarsfield, will be taking part in the 2019 London Marathon on April 28th of next year and has committed to raising a huge £10,000 for our work!
Alongside being a wonderful supporter of MTV Staying Alive, Charlie is a very talented director and photographer. Last year, Charlie worked pro-bono for us, taking amazing photos of our grantees at our foundation training in Rwanda.
Here’s what Charlie had to say about the challenge:
“I’m so excited to be running the London Marathon for the MTV Staying Alive Foundation. I’ve seen the amazing work they support and had the pleasure of meeting some of their incredibly inspiring grantees in Kenya and Rwanda. HIV is still a huge global health issue and one that particularly affects young people, it’s entirely preventable so long as people are educated and feel empowered to make healthy decisions when it comes to their sexual health, we can stop new infections in young people.
I’m really proud to be raising money for MTV Staying Alive so they can support young people working in their local communities to provide the information and tools needed. It’s an ambitious target – £10,000! – but confident I’ll get there with all your support!”
We are so grateful for Charlie’s ongoing support in ensuring we can continue to fund organisations around the world in combating HIV and promoting healthy and empowering sexual reproductive health awareness.
Good luck Charlie and thank you from everyone at MTV Staying Alive! Watch out for invites to his exclusive exhibition and fundraiser coming in the new year…
