After Black Friday comes Giving Tuesday – an opportunity for people to give back to causes that matter most to them.
At the MTV Staying Alive Foundation, we train peer educators to go into local schools and communities to teach young people life-saving health information. Many of our peer educators have faced extreme adversity. This sadly can include history of violent relationships, sexual assault, being forced to hide their sexuality and more. But these amazing young people are turning their experiences into positive action for their communities, by sharing vital wellness information and signposting people to local health services.
Their authentic voices and passion to ensure their traumas aren’t repeated have helped us reach more than 215,000 young people with information about issues like sexual violence, HIV prevention, and family planning. And we want to reach more. This Giving Tuesday you can donate to MTV Staying Alive Foundation and help people in rural and deprived areas access life-saving information. We don’t receive any government funding, and can only continue our work with the generous support of our donors.
Just $8 is enough to provide education resources for an entire school. With your help, we’ll be able to bring our resources to the people who need them most. You can donate online through our website here.
From everyone at the MTV Staying Alive Foundation, thank you for your support!
