Bill Roedy, Chairman of MTV Staying Alive, and his family are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to fight HIV!

During his time as President of MTV Networks International, Bill Roedy harnessed MTV’s global presence and youth appeal to launch the MTV Staying Alive campaign to raise awareness of HIV.

Following the overwhelming success of this campaign, Bill went on to start the MTV Staying Alive Foundation in 2003, with Georgia Arnold (Executive Director).

Bill has supported the Foundation as Chairman from the beginning, and now he going one step further—he’s climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with his family to raise funds for the young leaders supported by MTV Staying Alive .

On April 7, 2014, they will start their 5-day ascent up the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world, at 19,341 feet!
