Introducing the MTV Staying Alive Squad!
Last night, as part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, we launched the MTV Staying Alive Foundation Squad, a collective of young people who support the work we do. Alongside this, we hosted our grantee, Circus Zambia who aim to use circus as a tool to inform young people about HIV and their sexual and reproductive health rights.
Passionate and innovative, Circus Zambia put on a spectacular performance, showing us how they achieve their collective goal. Gift, the founder of Circus Zambia and a member of our squad said, “When you come to Zambia and you ask the do’s and don’ts, they’ll say don’t come to Chibolya”. Circus Zambia is based in Chibolya where they are positively impacting their community to change the stories of the younger generations to follow.
We have dedicated squad members who commit their time and efforts to us—Mercedes Benson came out and DJ’d for our event and Sophia Thakur shared her heartwarming poems relating to safe sex and love.
